Hamby Trail

Overview: This difficult 2.0-mile trail leads to the confluence of the Tuolumne and Clavey Rivers in the Stanislaus National Forest. Starting at 3,100 ft elevation, this trail offers inspiring views of the Tuolumne River watershed before descending quickly in a series of 40 switchbacks. This trail is located within the 2013 Rim Fire footprint and passes mostly through chaparral and oak-pine woodland.

Notes: Access to the Hamby Trail is through private property owned by Camp Tuolumne Trails. Please be careful of dead trees and loose rocks, as the Hamby Trail is within a recent burn area. Hikers can use the Hamby Trail to connect to the Tuolumne River Canyon trail.
