Plant Trees With Us This Spring

Restore forests. Strengthen watersheds. Show up for the places you love.

This spring, Yosemite Rivers Alliance invites you to step into the forest and be part of something bigger.

Across the Rim Fire footprint in Tuolumne County, thousands of young trees are ready to take root—and we need your help to plant them.

These volunteer days are more than just a chance to spend time outdoors. They’re an opportunity to directly restore landscapes impacted by one of California’s most devastating wildfires, while building healthier forests and more resilient watersheds for generations to come.

Why Tree Planting Matters

The 2013 Rim Fire left behind vast areas of damaged forest. In the years since, recovery has been slow—and without intervention, many of these landscapes struggle to regenerate on their own.

By planting native seedlings, volunteers help:

  • Rebuild forest ecosystems that provide critical wildlife habitat

  • Stabilize soils and reduce erosion into nearby rivers and streams

  • Improve water quality by supporting healthy forest cover

  • Strengthen climate resilience in fire-impacted landscapes

Every tree planted is a step toward a healthier, more connected watershed—from the forest floor to the rivers that sustain communities downstream.

Join Us in the Field

We’re hosting multiple volunteer days this spring, and you’re invited:

No prior experience is needed—just a willingness to get your hands in the soil and be part of the work.

As one volunteer shared: “I volunteered to plant trees as a way to give back to my community… I truly feel like it makes a difference!”

We’re restoring ecosystems, protecting water, and investing in a more resilient future.
