Live at the Sage: This summer, the music flows for our rivers

There's something about live music under an open sky that reminds you what it means to feel connected — to the people around you, to the land beneath your feet, to something bigger than yourself.

This summer, Yosemite Rivers Alliance and Mountain Sage are bringing that feeling to the Sierra foothills with Live at the Sage — a three-concert series in the heart of Groveland. Each evening pairs incredible live music with a purpose that runs deep: a portion of all proceeds will directly fund river and forest restoration across the Greater Yosemite Region.

Think of it as a summer soundtrack for our watersheds. Great music. Good company. Real impact.

Here's the lineup.

The Brothers Comatose — June 21

The series kicks off on the longest day of the year with The Brothers Comatose, the San Francisco–based bluegrass band known for high-energy performances, rich harmonics, and songwriting that feels equally at home on a front porch or a festival main stage. Opening the evening is Randy Mandy and The Frequency Experience, bringing their own vibrant, eclectic sound to get the night rolling.

If you haven't, this is your night.

The venue

Mountain Sage sits nestled in the plant nursery and gardens at Mountain Sage in Groveland, offering a charming grassy terraced amphitheater with natural, comfortable viewing from every angle. Bring a blanket or a low-backed chair, pack a picnic (it's BYO-friendly, with food and drinks also available for purchase), and settle in for a night under the stars.

All three concerts are all-ages events. Kids six and under get in free.

More than music

Here's what makes these evenings different from any other summer show: when you buy a ticket, you're also investing in the rivers and forests that surround you.

The Tuolumne, Stanislaus, and Merced rivers provide clean drinking water to more than 3 million people, nourish nearly half a million acres of Central Valley farmland, and support over 600 wildlife species. For more than 40 years, Yosemite Rivers Alliance has been on the ground protecting these watersheds — planting over a million trees, restoring salmon habitat, reducing wildfire risk, and engaging the next generation of stewards.

Every ticket sold at Mountain Sage helps keep that work flowing.

Want to be part of the crew?

We're looking for volunteers to help make each concert night welcoming and community-centered. In exchange for a 1.5-hour shift, you'll receive a free ticket to the show — plus the chance to support river and forest restoration firsthand.
